One “L” of a Journey for Children in Need ***NEW PHOTO GALLERY BELOW***

This year Go Driving is embarking upon ‘One L of a Journey’ for Children in Need.

Go Driving is a Hereford-based driving school covering Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire and Powys.

We’re planning to instruct learner drivers for charity, from John O’ Groats to Land’s End, finishing with the pupils taking their driving tests. The whole journey, just over 1000 miles, will be driven by the pupils, avoiding motorways. They will navigate through and stop off in towns along the way to collect money for this good cause.

This Saturday, 24th July 2010 is our launch date for ‘One L of a Journey’ for Children in Need. We’ll be in Hereford town centre (9am – 5pm) with Pudsey Bear, a selection of our cars decorated with Pudsey bears and spotty bandanas, and display boards with details and maps of the journey. We’re trying to reach as many people as possible as we’ve set a target of £25,000. We also need to find pupils willing to embark on this journey with us, and we only have until October!

We would be grateful if you could broadcast this event for us as you do with other charity events, or if someone from your organisation would be able to come and visit us on Saturday, to help launch this event and/or give us some help and ideas on how we can gain some momentum to start raising the sum we have targeted. Currently donations can be given via our website (www.go-driving.biz) to www.just giving.com.

The journey starts on Saturday 23rd October and ends on Friday 29th October 2010 (6 nights and 7 days).

We’ll be stopping at the following towns and cities in order to collect money and raise awareness for Children in Need: Hereford, John O’ Groats, Inverness, Edinburgh, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Manchester, Shrewsbury, Llandrindod Wells, Hereford, Gloucester, Bristol, Exeter, Land’s End.

Any input and help will be greatly received.

Kind regards,

Andrew Lloyd D.S.A. A.D.I. (cars) I.A.M.
